Troy Polamalu’s Injury

This might be the first time Troy Polamalu is happy to hear that an injury will keep him out from just few games and not the entire season. The 2-Time ALL-PRO injured his left medical collateral ligament that occurred during a scramble for the ball on a blocked-field goal attempt Thursday against Tennessee Titans.

After medical scans, the doctors have decided that he wouldn’t require a surgery on his knee. The condition could have been worse but he feels blessed that he wouldn’t have to undergo a surgery for this injury or miss the whole regular season. Pittsburgh Steelers will definitely miss his presence on the field and the way he used to adapt to different plays.

His ability to be a pass defender makes him one of the NFL’s most versatile players. But no worries for Pittsburgh Steelers! They’ve got a backup – Tyron Carter; we all know that nobody can stand in Polamalu’s shoes, but Carter will do the job. Troy Polamalu is expected to recover from this injury within 4 to 8 weeks.
